Pranav Satheesh

I am a PhD candidate in Physics at University of Florida, working with Laura Blecha on supermassive black holes and galaxy evolution. I use cosmological simulations to study populations of massive black holes and model their dynamics in post-processing, and is interested in connecting massive black hole populations from simulations to gravitational wave and electromagnetic observations. I am an LSST-DA Data Science Fellow and incoming research analyst at the Center For Computational Astrophysics (CCA), Flatiron Institute in New York. I am also an associate member of NANOGrav. Prior to my PhD, I did a BS-MS in Physics at Indian Institute of Technology Madras where I was involved in modelling gravitational waveforms for binary black holes. I am actively involved science communication and outreach. I volunteered as science-writer for Astrobites. I also help organize ComsciCon, a flagship conference and workshop for training graduate students in science communication. I also make science-comics! You can check them out here.
